Prayer to Saint Rita of Cascia (for impossible causes)

Saint Rita of Cascia (1381–1457) was an Italian widow and Augustinian nun. She is venerated as the patron saint of impossible causes, difficult marriages, and parenthood. People pray to her seeking intercession in desperate situations, especially when all human hope seems lost.

O glorious Saint Rita, advocate of impossible cases, helper in the last hour, refuge and comfort in the pain that oppresses the soul! With all confidence in your power, I come to implore you to obtain for me from God the favor I so ardently desire: (make your request).
Present to God, Father of mercy and source of all consolation, my humble and confident prayer. And you, who obtained from Jesus all that you asked, do not abandon me in this difficult hour, obtaining for me the grace of which I am so much in need. Amen.

When to pray

It is customarily prayed in times of great need or distress, particularly when facing seemingly impossible challenges. Her feast day is May 22nd.
