Prayer to Saint George
Saint George is a Christian martyr venerated since the early centuries. Although the historical details of his life are uncertain, his devotion is ancient and widespread, being one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. He is often depicted as a knight defeating a dragon, symbolizing the victory of faith over evil. This prayer is popularly recited to ask for protection against enemies and dangers.
I will walk dressed and armed with the weapons of Saint George so that my enemies, having feet, may not reach me; having hands, may not grab me; having eyes, may not see me, and not even in thoughts may they do me harm.
Firearms will not reach my body, knives and spears will break without reaching my body, ropes and chains will break without tying my body.
Jesus Christ, protect me and defend me with the power of your holy and divine grace, Virgin of Nazareth, cover me with your sacred and divine mantle, protecting me in all my pains and afflictions, and God, with your divine mercy and great power, defend me and free me from evil and persecutions from enemies.
Glorious Saint George, in the name of God, extend your shield and your powerful weapons to me, defending me with your strength and your greatness, and may under the hooves of your faithful horse my enemies be humble and submissive to you.
So be it with the power of God, of Jesus and of the phalanx of the Divine Holy Spirit. Amen.
