Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
Composed by Pope Leo XIII in 1886 and prayed after Mass until 1964. It is again recommended as a prayer of protection. Feast of Saint Michael: September 29.

Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, cast into hell Satan
and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

In moments of fear, temptation or danger; many pray it daily after the rosary.

esto praesidium nostrum contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli.
Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:
tuque, Princeps militiae caelestis,
Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,
qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo,
divina virtute in infernum detrude.

Origin
The Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel was composed by Pope Leo XIII around 1886, following a vision he experienced. He mandated its recitation after all Low Masses throughout the Catholic world. Although this practice was suppressed after the Second Vatican Council, the prayer remains widely popular in private devotion among the faithful, especially for protection against evil.
