Act of Hope

The Act of Hope is a traditional Catholic prayer that expresses trust in God's goodness and promises. It is one of the three theological virtues, alongside Faith and Charity. The faithful pray it to reaffirm their hope in salvation and divine grace through the merits of Jesus Christ.

O my God, relying on Thy almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

When to pray

It is customarily prayed daily, especially during morning or night prayers, or during an examination of conscience.
