Prayer for the Sick (Traditional)
This prayer is a general supplication to Jesus Christ, the Divine Healer, for those who are ill. It acknowledges Christ's ministry of healing and asks for comfort, strength, and, if it is God's will, restoration of health for the sick. It also encourages the sick to offer their sufferings for the salvation of the world, uniting them with Christ's Passion.
Lord Jesus Christ, who went about doing good and healing the sick, we implore You for all who suffer.
Look with kindness upon our sick brothers and sisters, that through Your mercy, they may find relief in their pains and comfort in their sufferings.
Strengthen them in faith and hope, that they may patiently endure their infirmities and offer You their sufferings for the salvation of the world.
Grant them, if it be Your holy will, health of body and soul, that they may praise You and serve You with renewed vigor.
We ask this through the intercession of Our Lady, Health of the Sick, and all the saints.
You who live and reign with the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.

When to pray
